The last week of June saw 65 Year 6 and 7 students go on a great adventure to Ipoh on a 2 night, 3 day camp.

We started with some team building and an active ‘Amazing Race’, where the teams competed testing their communication, dexterity and problem solving skills.

The next day we set off on a 2 hour trek to a local Orang Asli village, walking through beautiful forest with amazing scenery. At the village we were treated to a locally cooked meal, and sat in the traditional house to enjoy our food. We then learned about blow pipes, weaving and snaring, before playing in a waterfall before returning home.

The final day saw the students take on their greatest challenge – some white water rafting in Gopeng. All the students had a wonderful time, and learned so much about independence and surviving on their own. The food and hospitality of Fuze Ecoteer, our hosts for the camp, was fantastic. A wonderful time was had by all!

APIS Year 6 have finished the year in style, with a series of events that have expanded the horizons of our young people, and celebrated their successes. A huge congratulations to our graduating class who start the Secondary phase of their education in September.

We celebrated a milestone in our students education at Tropicana Golf and Country Club by holding a graduation dinner for our Year 6 students. It was a spectacular evening – starting with the presentation of certificates, before a fantastic dinner.

The celebration continued with a  heartwarming speech from our Prefect Leader, before a showcase of all our students talents. We had some wonderful piano and guitar performances, and uplifting dancing. There was also a selection of story telling, before Marzouk and Lulu took the stage to provide us a hilarious standup routine that had the whole audience in giggles.

We heard from our deputy prefect leader before the students joined together for a grand finale – High School Musical Style! Our prefect leaders – Vighna and Dhevina both spoke with great confidence and warmth about their Primary Years, thanking their teachers for everything they have done in the last 6 years to grow them emotionally and academically.

We were joined by Home Room teachers who had taken the students from Year 2, right up to Year 6 – and we were all touched to receive a gift at the end acknowledging their passion and creativity in nurturing these young minds.
